SEARCH CONTINUES FOR NEW SOMERVILLE MAYOR

The search continues for a mayor for the City of Somerville.

Officials with the city say they have yet to receive any applications for the post.

Former Mayor Ken Tharp, who was elected in 2017, abruptly resigned after serving several months in the post.

Since then, Don “Skipper” Murray II, the Mayor Pro Tem, has served in the post.

Members of the Somerville City Council still hope to appoint someone to the position by their meeting, Tuesday, June 12.

The appointed mayor would serve until the next election in May of 2019.
