A Grimes County fugitive, wanted on multiple arrest warrants has been arrested in Burton.

38-year old Charles Joshua Raines of Navasota, who fled from Grimes County Sheriff’s deputies in a stolen vehicle, then on foot after crashing in Montgomery County, was arrested at a residence near Burton, Wednesday.

According to Sheriff Otto Hanak, his office received an anonymous call with information that Raines was at a residence in Burton.  Numerous department personnel, including: Sheriff’s Deputy Christopher Garcia, Sergeants Mike McAnally, Damon Wegner, Mitch Dreyer, and Patrol Lieutenant Eddie Ocanas, all responded to the scene.

At the scene, authorities recognized Raines and was arrested without incident.

Raines was also wanted by Washington County on felony warrants, as well.

Raines was booked into the Washington County jail on the local warrants for Burglary of a Habitation and Misdemeanor Theft.  His bonds total $50,750.00.

Raines was also wanted in Grimes County for Assault Causing Bodily Injury to a Family Member, Evading Arrest in a Vehicle, Criminal Mischief, Unauthorized Use of a Motor Vehicle, and Evading Arrest.

Late Wednesday, Raines was transferred to the Grimes County jail to face charges and will be returned to Washington County once those charges are addressed.
