SGT. THUMANN, FAYETTE CO. K9 LOBOS DISCOVER $1.2 MILLION OF METH

  

Fayette County Sheriff’s deputy Sergeant Randy Thumann and his canine partner Lobos confiscated approximately $1.2 million of meth Thursday morning.

According to Sheriff Keith Korenek, around 11 a.m., Sgt. Thumann and Lobos conducted a traffic stop on I-10 Eastbound at the 658 Mile Marker for a traffic violation.  Sgt. Thumann took note of many criminal indicators, once making contact with the vehicle’s occupants.

Upon being given consent to search the vehicle, Sgt. Thumann and Lobos discovered eight sealed PVC containers, containing over 12 kilos of methamphetamines.

47-year-old Benjamin Ruiz Jr. and 39-year-old Linda Monica Ruiz, both of Laredo, were charged with Felony Possession of a Controlled Substance and taken to the Dan R. Beck Justice Center.
