WASHINGTON CO. INVESTIGATING ROBBERY NEAR BRENHAM

  

Washington County authorities are investigating an armed robbery that occurred near Brenham Tuesday afternoon.

According to Lieutenant Eddie Ocanas, a driver picked up two individuals near FM 50 and FM 390 around 1:30 p.m.  Upon entering the vehicle, the suspects, identified as two African American men, drew a pistol and robbed the man at gunpoint.  The men took an undisclosed amount of money, in cash and credit cards.

The victim parked his vehicle around the 8000 block of FM 390 East and ran.  The suspects fled the scene in different directions.  Once they were gone, the driver got back in the truck and returned to his home, where he would alert authorities.

Washington County authorities searched the area around 7:30 p.m. Tuesday, but could not locate the suspects.  The Washington County Sheriff’s Office says two people reported men walking in the Independence Prairie prior to the time of the offense.  Investigators say that both suspects fit the description given.

Lt. Ocanas says investigators have a good lead, but they still need to have photo lineups done.
