DELAY GRANTED IN ROCKDALE MURDER TRIAL
A delay has been granted in the trials for four suspects charged with capital murder of a Rockdale woman.
The Milam County District Attorney says the delay is due to a previous court obligation for the defense attorney has not allowed sufficient time to prepare for the case.
Candice Jones, Edward Barry, John Stewart, and Ashley Wesson-Zawadzke remain in jailed for the murder of Emily Hacker.
Hacker's body was found in a shallow grave in Burleson County eight days after she went missing.
A fifth person allegedly involved, Kevin Cormier, is charged with tampering with evidence.
The district attorney also says there is a backlog with DPS in Austin.
The start date of the trial has now been pushed back to at least January of next year.
