INVESTIGATION CONTINUES FOR SNOOK DRIVE-IN BURGLARY
The Burleson County Sheriff’s Office has narrowed down suspects in the Snook convenience store burglary case.
After investigation of the fire was turned over to the State Fire Marshal’s Office, the Sheriff’s Office now has suspects in the burglary. However, information on who they are or how many has not been given.
A fire destroyed the Snook Drive-In on June 27th, after someone drove their truck into the front of the building. The crime scene tape is all that remains on County Road 265. The only person at the scene on Thursday was a man inspecting gas tanks to make sure they were empty.
According to Sam Maredia, one of the owners of the business, the suspect broke into the store to rob the ATM. Investigator Christine Labertew says the fire has made it difficult to determine if anything was taken from the store.
The Sheriff’s Office is still determining what charges the responsible parties could face. The State Fire Marshal’s Office says their investigation is still open, but they have not released any findings at this point.
