BRENHAM MAIN STREET REVEALS DETAILS ON WAYFINDING SIGN PROGRAM

Wayfinding sign on Hwy 36 N.

Citizens of Brenham may have noticed signs popping up across the city, directing them to places of interest.

Those signs are part of an extended project by the Main Street Program to put wayfinding signs all across town.  The directional signs are designed to help promote historical sites.  Jennifer Eckermann, manager of Brenham’s Main Street Program, says the signs will be extremely helpful to visitors and tourists.

Eckermann says TxDOT has a lot of say in where the signs pop up, especially on the highway, but Brenham has ultimate control over where they go.

The project has experienced multiple delays due to weather, but Eckermann is confident that the first phase of the project will be completed by the end of the summer.

For more information about the program, contact Eckermann at 979-337-7384, or Community Services Coordinator Alexandra Dill at 979-337-7253.
