KWHI LAUNCHING NEW FM SIGNAL
KWHI President Tom Whitehead is happy to announce that the station’s new FM frequency will go live tomorrow morning.
Starting at 6 a.m. on Friday, listeners will be able to tune in at 101.7 FM, and hear all the content broadcast on KWHI 1280. K269GU will duplicate KWHI’s audio onto 101.7 FM, which is expected to be strong enough to cover all of Washington County. The antenna for the signal is located at the new tower just constructed on North Dixie Street in Brenham.
Work is still continuing at the tower for the AM station. The station has been operating at a lower power during construction to allow crews to work safely. Whitehead says the station should return to broadcasting at full power sometime next week.
