CALDWELL MIDDLE SCHOOL TO POSSIBLY REMAIN AT CURRENT LOCATION

  

A new proposal by Caldwell ISD may leave Caldwell Middle School at its current site.

At the school district’s task force meeting on Tuesday at the Caldwell Middle School Library, it outlined the latest version of a bond proposal to the public.  This particular proposal only calls for the renovation, and not the relocation, of Caldwell Middle School.

A prior community task force gathering brought proposals to not only remodel the main building of the middle school, but to turn it into the new elementary school.

The school district changed its plans for the remodeling, and moved forward with intent to build a new elementary school at the site of the middle school track.

This revised plan also calls for removing all portable classrooms, demolishing the current field house, adding new middle school and high school gyms, and tying the existing structure to the band hall and cafeteria with classroom additions.

The new plan would be less expensive than the initial proposal, which estimated costs at over $38 million.
