BRENHAM ISD DEVELOPING NEW ACADEMIC PROGRAMS
Brenham ISD is in the process of establishing new academic programs designed to support students of all kinds.
At last week’s Washington County Education Forum, Superintendent Dr. Walter Jackson introduced several programs aimed at developing kids from various upbringings and academic backgrounds.
One of these programs, EMERGE Fellows, aims to gain middle-to-upper tier students entry into top universities across the nation, at little to no cost for them.
Dr. Jackson says he is working on setting the foundation for the EMERGE program, and hopes to have it ready for students to use this year.
Other programs, such as CSI and Gateway, are geared towards the bright and gifted students, with individualized education and special staff qualified to teach them.
STEAM Academy is designed for younger students, focused on hands-on learning that complements natural developmental stages of children.
