JULY BUILDING PERMITS TOTAL OVER $1.1 MILLION
The City of Brenham issued 16 building permits in July for over $1.1 million.
Permits for July totaled $1,153,295, over $200,000 more than July of last year. Last July issued more permits, at 20, but they only totaled $920,059.
Last month’s largest permit was issued to Kountry Boys Sausage for $490,342, for additions to the meat processing facility. In May, Kountry Boys Sausage received a permit worth $400,000, for the foundation for a new building for the business on Longwood Drive.
A permit for $7,000 was issued to Alton Elementary School, for the installation of handicap ramps.
Three permits were issued for new residences in the county, worth $476,840. So far this year, 31 new residences have been permitted, for a total value of $4,284,951.
This year, 162 permits have been issued, totaling $26,139,041. These numbers are down considerably from this point last year, which had 277 permits adding up to $39,115,284.
