COLLEGE STATION STANDOFF ENDS PEACEFULLY

  

A day-long standoff at a College Station bar and grill came to a peaceful end early this (Tuesday) morning.

Police say the suspect voluntarily surrendered just after 3:00 this morning at the Rockies Grill and Saloon on Texas Avenue.

The standoff began when the man, whose name has not been released, reportedly walked into the business shortly after 11:00 a.m., Monday and fired shots into the air.

College Station SWAT and authorities from numerous agencies immediately responded to the scene.

People were allowed to evacuate the building and were escorted away by authorities.

The gunman, who was alone in the building, fired shots several times in the air, but no one was wounded.

College Station Police say the identity of the suspect, described only as a ‘white male’ will be released later this morning.
