BACK TO SCHOOL FOR BURTON TODAY

Today (Tuesday) marks the first day of school for Burton students and staff members.

Approximately 450 Burton students will return to the classroom today, with classes beginning at 7:55 a.m.

Burton Superintendent Dr. Edna Kennedy says she is proud of all that the district offers students.  She thanks the Burton community for making Burton “an awesome place to get an education.”

Dr. Kennedy says the Burton community is accomplishing great things, and that the district is continuing to make strides in academic progress.

Burton ISD recently received a “B” grade in accountability from the Texas Education Association.  The grade is based on student achievement and progress, college readiness, and performance of different racial and socioeconomic groups.
