A&M INVESTIGATING FRATERNITY’S POSSIBLE ROLE IN DEATH

Officials at Texas A&M have confirmed that the Office of Student Life is investigating a fraternity there after a pledge died last month.

The A&M chapter of Phi Gamma Delta, known as FIJI, is under investigation after 18-year old freshman Joseph Little died following a seizure in his College Station apartment August 29th.

A Brazos County Justice of the Peace described his death as “unnatural".  However, the manner and cause of death are pending until a final autopsy is completed, which could take 6 to 8 weeks.

The Justice of the Peace did say the initial blood toxicology tests at the hospital did not show any signs of drugs or alcohol.

The Student Life office started an investigation into the fraternity's activities that weekend.  A spokesperson said Little had been accepted into the fraternity the weekend before his death.

College Station police say they began investigating Little's death following a request from the Justice of the Peace.
