The Brenham Cubs and Burton Panthers look to rebound after disappointing opening nights to the 2018 high school football season.

The Cubs fell to Magnolia West, 61-21 at Cubs’ Stadium, Friday night, while the Panthers lost at Lexington, 54-20.

Turnovers hampered the Cubs during a 28-0 Mustangs’ run in the third quarter, as they put the game out of reach.

The Panthers took a 7-0 lead before Lexington ran off 34 consecutive points en route to the win.

Friday night the Cubs renew their long-time rivalry with the Waller Bulldogs.  Waller fell to Bryan last week, 20-10.

The Panthers will face Milano, who lost to Grapeland, 27-0 last Friday.

The Cubs and Bulldogs kick off at 7:30 at Bulldog Stadium in Waller.  The game can be heard on AM-1280 KWHI, FM-101.7 and www.kwhi.com.

The Panthers kick off at Milano at 7:30.
