FIRST CANDIDATE FILES FOR BRENHAM CITY COUNCIL POSITION

The city of Brenham has received its first application for the position of At-Large Council Position Five.

Clint Kolby, former Project Manager for Brenham’s Economic Development Foundation, has filed an application for a place on the ballot for December 8th’s special election.  The position has been vacant since August 16th, when former Councilman Charlie Pyle resigned due to health issues.

Kolby currently serves as an alternate member on Brenham’s Board of Adjustments.  His term on the board will expire December 31st.  He is also an attorney with the Brenham law firm Betts, Walters & Mutscher, P.C.

 

 

He previously served 7 years as the Project Manager with the Brenham Economic Development Foundation.  During this time, Kolby was also a member of the Advisory Board for the A.W. Hodde, Jr. Technical Education Center at Blinn College, and the Regional Council for the Lower Colorado River Authority (LCRA).

Today (Monday) is the first day for candidates to begin filing for places on the ballot for December’s election.  Early voting for the election starts Wednesday, November 21.
