SCARECROWS COMING TO DOWNTOWN BRENHAM
The city of Brenham will see about 20 scarecrows pop up across the downtown area starting today (Friday).
Entries for Main Street Brenham’s 15th Annual Scarecrow Extravaganza will be placed throughout downtown Brenham today.
Public voting begins tomorrow (Saturday) and ends October 21st. The most popular scarecrow will win the grand prize of $250, provided by KTEX-106 and KWHI 1280.
There will also be five other prizes of $150 offered. Prizes this year, according to Community Services Coordinator Alexandra Dill, are based on how many votes the scarecrows receive.
This year, some entries include “Mr. and Mrs. Potato Head”, created by Citadel Christian School; “Spud” from the Boys and Girls Club of Washington County; “Runaway Bride” by Bustles and Bow Ties Boutique; and “BE THE CUB BAND” for the Brenham High School Band.
Starting tomorrow, you can pick up voting ballots at any of this year’s Scarecrow Extravaganza sponsors, including The Canyon Chick, Must Be Heaven, Tres Chic Boutique, Day Star Christian Bookstore, and Hermann Furniture, as well as KTEX-106 and KWHI 1280.
