MAN ARRESTED AFTER MANHUNT/STANDOFF NEAR GRIMES CO.
A man wanted after fleeing arrest near Grimes County, has been arrested following a lengthy standoff with a SWAT team Monday morning at a Montgomery County home.

The Montgomery County Sheriff's Office confirms that 34-year-old Nolen Goodman was taken into custody just after 4:00 a.m.
Numerous agencies became involved in the search for Goodman in an area east of Grimes County near Plantersville and Todd Mission. Goodman allegedly fired a gun at officers during a traffic stop Saturday.
Numerous law enforcement agencies were called to the scene, including a DPS helicopter, but they were unsuccessful in locating Goodman.
Authorities were called to his girlfriend’s home Sunday, where they confirmed he was in the home, but they refused to come out.
Authorities used tear gas to force his girlfriend to leave, however Goodman claimed he had a bomb and would blow up the home. Several hours later, he gave up without incident.
Goodman has several open warrants and was the subject of an officer safety bulletin recently. He has history of family violence by discharging a firearm into a residence occupied by his family members.
His girlfriend, 44-year-old Rosemary Paez, has been charged with hindering apprehension of a known fugitive.
