ROADWORK SCHEDULED IN BRENHAM FOR WEDNESDAY
Drivers will need to be mindful of roadwork during their Wednesday morning commute in Brenham.
Beginning at 6 a.m., Burlington-Northern-Santa Fe Railway (BNSF) will be performing work on the railroad crossing on Blue Bell Road.
The road will be closed at the crossing while work is being done, from 6 a.m. to noon. TxDOT’s Bob Colwell has clarified that the work will be done on the crossing near Burger King on the north side of Brenham. The work is part of BNSF’s statewide replanking plan.
TxDOT will be conducting traffic control, detouring traffic onto Business 36 North. Drivers needing to get to Brenham Elementary School will have to take Burleson Street to the FM 577 Loop, or 36 to the Loop.
Also Wednesday, starting at 9 a.m., TxDOT will work on replacing the signal cabinet at Alamo Street and Blue Bell Road.
Temporary stop signs will be placed at the intersection while work is performed, which is expected to take about three hours.
Drivers are encouraged to find an alternate route, and to account for any and all delays. For questions, contact Colwell at 979-778-9764, or Bobby.Colwell@txdot.gov.
