COW/CALF CLINIC, OCTOBER 26

The 47th annual South Central Texas Cow-Calf Clinic and Trade Show is set for Friday, Oct. 26 at the Washington County fairgrounds sales facility.

Registration will begin at 7:30 a.m. with the program getting under way at 8. A registration fee of $20 per person will provide admission to the clinic, an opportunity to visit with tradeshow vendors, refreshments, a catered barbecue lunch and an afternoon social.

The 2018 clinic will focus on emerging issues for cattle producers and low-stress cattle handling. The event will kick off with a legislative update from state Rep. Ben Leman.  The morning session topics will include national animal identification program and the cow-calf industry, and pests of past and present (tick update).

The afternoon will feature a Texas Beef Council update and the remainder of the day will focus on understanding cattle behavior and low stress cattle handling demonstrations.

Throughout the day there will be time to visit with trade show vendors, view cattle in the contests and network with producers, speakers and others.
