WASHINGTON CO. READ RECEPTION THURSDAY AT UNITY THEATRE
Lifetime Learning will celebrate the 10th anniversary of Washington County READ with a reception and book signing Thursday night.
Unity Theatre in downtown Brenham will host author Jan Jarboe Russell who will be signing copies of her book, The Train to Crystal City.
Following a reception at the theatre, there will be a dramatic reading from the book by the Unity actors.
The book tells the history of the family internment camp in Crystal City, Texas during World War II.
Doors at Unity Theatre open tomorrow at 5:20, with the event set to begin at 5:30. Copies of The Train to Crystal City will be available for purchase.
In conjunction with the READ, there will be a reception today at the Nancy Carol Roberts Memorial Library for Retired Lt. Col. Adolf “Wes” Wesselhoeft, who will discuss his memories of being at Crystal City as a child. He will have beek for sale, Wesselhoeft: Traded to the Enemy.
Today’s reception begins at 2:00 p.m. at the library.
