BRENHAM MAN DIES IN AUTO ACCIDENT IN HEMPSTEAD

A Brenham man died in a single-vehicle accident Friday morning in Hempstead.

60-year-old Tamir Ragonis was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident.  Around 11 a.m., Ragonis was coming on to US 290 from Highway 6, inside Hempstead city limits, when it was reported he lost control of his vehicle and hit a highway support column.

Tamir was the owner of Ragonis Hi-Tech Services in Brenham, and the husband of former assistant city manager Wende Ragonis.  The two have three children.  Their son, Noah, was Senior Maifest King of 2018.

Memorial services are scheduled for Monday at 1:30 p.m. at Brenham Presbyterian Church, with a reception following.

    1. Indeed. I bought a machine from him this spring. I had heard he was a great guy and when he passed out gift cards to the machine mover employees for no apparent reason, I knew what I had heard was true. Later that day we had to go get supplies and as he drove his daughter called, and I distinctly remember how his voice instantly softened when speaking to her. So very few times have I HEARD love in a persons voice, but I heard it in both of theirs. So sad to hear of his passing. I will miss him in our brief time, I can only imagine his families pain.
