VOTING BOOTHS OPEN MONDAY FOR NOVEMBER ELECTION

Early voting begins today (Monday) for November’s general election.

This week, the Washington County Courthouse Annex, across from the Courthouse, will be open Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Saturday from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., and Sunday from noon to 3 p.m.

Local races to keep an eye on include:

  • District 13 State Representative, between Republican incumbent Ben Leman and Democrat challenger Cecil Webster.
  • Washington County Precinct Two Commissioner, with Republican Candice Bullock running against Democrat Ira Joe Newsome.

County Clerk Beth Rothermel says her office is expecting a large turnout, citing high interest in this year’s election.

Voters will have reserved parking spaces in front of the Courthouse Annex, at 100 South Park Street.  To learn more about the elections in Washington County, visit www.co.washington.tx.us.
