BRENHAM ISD EDUCATION FOUNDATION FUNDS OVER $53,000 IN MINI-GRANT REQUESTS

Brenham ISD’s Education Foundation announced it funded a record of over $53,000 in mini-grant requests to Brenham schools this year.

Foundation members recently went to each Brenham campus to award this year’s grant recipients.  Foundation Secretary Kim Weatherby says the organization funded more requests this year than any other before.

The Foundation received over $120,000 total in requests this year, and over half of the requests were funded with help from sponsors and district departments.  Some campus requests included chromebooks, GoNoodle – a program that combines learning and movement, books for interactive read-alouds, and other tools and programs.

The Education Foundation is a non-profit organization that looks to create and allocate resources to the district, to help expand school programs.  Resources come from sponsorships, donations, and the annual Arts and Appetizers event.  Proceeds through the year are put back into the district through the fall mini-grant program.
