SECOND WEEK OF EARLY VOTING IN WASHINGTON COUNTY

Early voting continues today (Monday) in Washington County.

County Clerk Beth Rothermel says on Saturday, 488 voters cast ballots, and 301 voted on Sunday.  Altogether, 5,980 early voters came out the first week in Washington County.

Compared to 2016’s presidential election, there were 6,338 early votes cast at this point, 358 more than this year’s election.  Rothermel says, although this year’s pace is slightly behind 2016’s, it is far ahead of numbers from a typical gubernatorial election.

The Washington County Courthouse Annex will have extended hours today and tomorrow (Tuesday), running from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.  Regular hours will resume on Wednesday and continue through Friday, from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.  The Courthouse Annex will not be open this Saturday or Sunday.

The Courthouse Annex can be found across from the County Courthouse on South Park Street, in downtown Brenham.
