Arrest records are showing that a missing 2-year-old College Station girl was beaten and killed by the mother and her boyfriend.

Probable cause statements from Galveston County show that on October 19th, TiAundra Christon and her boyfriend, Kenny D’Shawn Hewett, were responsible for the death of 2-year-old Hazana Anderson.  It was not until October 28th that Christon reported Hazana to be missing at Gabbard Park in College Station.

Investigators says Christon and Hewett were staying at a hotel in Houston from October 17th to the 20th.  Christon told investigators that, on the night of the 19th, Hewett took Hazana with him to go get food.  She said when they got back, Hazana was crying, and Hewett was hitting her with a belt.

Christon said she was told by Hewett to discipline Hazana, so she beat her with the belt “a couple of times” before Hewett started to hit Hazana again.

Eventually, Hazana became unconscious, but Christon said she thought she still had a pulse.

The couple took the girl to the bathtub to attempt to revive her, but were unable to. They tried warming Hazana’s body with a hair dryer, which only burned her skin.

Investigators say Christon kept Hazana’s body in the back of her car for three days, before putting it in a garbage bag, tying it to a large rock, and disposing of it in a lake in Texas City. It was at this lake that on Wednesday, deputies found Hazana’s remains.

Five days after Christon disposed of the body, she reported Hazana missing from her stroller at Gabbard Park. At the time, she told police she had stepped away from the stroller to get a bottle for the child, and returned to find her gone.

Police spoke to two witnesses at the scene, who said they had not seen or heard a child at all in the area. Police also discovered a handbag in a trashcan close to Christon’s car, which held a baby doll wearing Hazana’s clothes.  Christon could not explain this, and she would be arrested for filing a false report, along with abandoning or endangering a child.

Authorities connected Christon to Hewett using cell phone records, and he would be arrested on charges of tampering with a human corpse on October 31st.  Records online also showed Christon was charged with tampering with a human corpse.

The two remained in custody Friday night, on a combined $1.25 million bond.
