DOWNTOWN BRENHAM HOSTING CHRISTMAS STROLL THIS WEEKEND

  

Downtown Brenham is preparing to celebrate the season with this year’s “Home-style” Christmas Stroll and Lighted Parade.

Activities for all ages await those who come to downtown Brenham this weekend, starting Friday evening at 5:30 p.m. with the lighting of the Christmas tree and caroling on the courthouse square. Blake of KTEX-106 will be there, broadcasting live.  There will also be rides on the city’s 1950 Invader fire truck, and carriage rides.

In addition, live music will surround the courthouse throughout the evening, with the Blue Grooves Duo playing at the courthouse gazebo from 6 to 8 p.m., and the Tuba Christmas concert beginning at 8 p.m.

The Jingle Bell Market will be open from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. Friday at the Ant Street Inn, with the Farmers and Artisan Pop-Up Market from 3 to 7 p.m. on Baylor Street.

Saturday will kick off with Breakfast with Santa, with two sessions at 8 and 9 a.m. at Must Be Heaven. There are no more open reservation slots.

All through the day, the Sip, Shop and Stroll will be taking place at downtown shops, along with the Jingle Bell Market. Carriage rides and music at the gazebo will continue, while everyone waits for the popular Christmas Lighted Parade at 6 p.m.

Community Services Specialist Crystal Locke says there are over 50 entries for this year’s parade.

 

Following the parade, kids can come sit with Santa in Alamo Alley. Downtown businesses will be open late for holiday shopping.  To learn more, visit http://jingle.cityofbrenham.org.
