BRENHAM P.D. RECEIVES GRANT FOR VESTS
The Brenham Police Department has received nearly $3,000 for the purchase of bulletproof vests.
A federal grant totaling $2,991 was awarded by the Department of Justice’s Office of Justice Programs.
Texas U.S. Sen. John Cornyn co-sponsored funding in the Senate. Statewide, $2.5 million in grants were awarded to law enforcement agencies for the vests.
Cornyn says, “Because we rely on law enforcement officers to keep our communities safe, we must place an equal premium on their personal safety and well-being.”
Cornyn goes on to say, “These grants send a message to the men and women who put themselves at risk each day that we have their back, too.”
He also thanked the Trump Administration for their support.
