POLICE ARREST ELDERLY NAVASOTA MAN FOR CHILD INDECENCY

An elderly Navasota man was recently arrested on a felony child indecency charge.
77-year-old Stash Valdez Ostigin was arrested last week on a charge of Indecency with a Child by Sexual Contact, a second-degree felony.
Navasota Police Chief Shawn Myatt said on November 15th, the police department received reports of a supposed incident with a three-year-old child. Police investigation led to the securing of a warrant for the arrest.
Due to the nature of the case and the victim’s age, identity is being withheld.
Myatt said the case is still ongoing. Ostigin remains in the Grimes County Jail on $250,000 bond.
