JUDGES NEEDED FOR UPCOMING SPEECH AND DEBATE TOURNAMENT IN BRENHAM

Hundreds of students from Texas and Oklahoma high schools will be coming to Brenham next month, to compete in an All-Region Speech and Debate Tournament.

Hosted by the National Christian Forensics and Communications Association (NCFCA), the All-Region Qualifier will be held from January 8-10 at Blinn College in Brenham.  Students will be competing in Lincoln-Douglas and team policy debates, along with various prepared and limited preparation speech events.

The NCFCA is requesting community volunteers to help throughout the three day event, to evaluate students and their performance.  Over 200 volunteers are needed.

Marcie Taylor, with the NCFCA, says people from all walks of life are encouraged to pitch in.

Judging each round is a three hour commitment, and volunteers can judge as little as one or as many as several rounds over the course of the event.

For more information about the tournament, or to sign up to volunteer, go online to www.ncfcajudges.com.  You can also contact Kimberly Wieberg at 281-773-6054, or ncfcajudgerecruiter@gmail.com.
