PAGE MICHEL STEPPING DOWN FROM WASHINGTON CO. CHAMBER

After 18 years of service at the Washington County Chamber, Page Michel announced today (Thursday) she will be stepping down as president and chief executive officer in 30 days.

Michel informed chamber board members of her decision to resign Wednesday.  She stated she will not be leaving Brenham, but she will be working from a home-based office doing business development activities for a publishing/marketing company for chambers across the state.

Last year, the City of Brenham cancelled a contract with the Chamber Convention and Visitor’s Bureau, thereby taking control of tourism duties.  In addition, the city took over economic development.

Michel, who also held similar titles with the Brenham Economic Development Foundation, said she is looking forward to helping neighboring chambers in the gulf coast region and beyond.

The Chamber’s Executive Committee will soon begin the search process for a new president.  The Chamber Board will be communicating directly with its members, and will soon send out a press release detailing the nature of Michel’s departure.
