BRENHAM CITY MANAGER JAMES FISHER’S CONTRACT EXTENDED

  

Brenham City Manager James Fisher has had his contract renewed for one year.

The Brenham City Council made the decision to renew Fisher’s contract, at the same salary, after reconvening from an executive session Thursday.

Fisher replaced Terry Roberts as city manager in January of 2018.  Roberts retired after spending 17 years at the position.

Fisher has served in municipal management for the past 29 years, beginning his career in 1995 in Castroville as the City Administrator.  Before taking the position in Brenham, he served as City Manager in the city of Forney, Texas.

Also following executive session Thursday, councilmembers approved the city’s purchase of property downtown.  The specifics of the sale, which was signed off on by Brenham Mayor Milton Tate, have not been released.
