THREE SUSPECTS ARRESTED AFTER MULTI-COUNTY MANHUNT

  

Update #1 @ 11:55 a.m.: Three suspects have been taken into custody, following a Monday night pursuit that involved Washington and Grimes County authorities.

The pursuit began in Navasota and ended in a crash on private property off of Pickens Road in Washington County, off of State Highway 105 near Coles Creek. The subjects fled into the surrounding woods.

According to Navasota’s Communications Coordinator Emily Gainey, the first suspect was arrested Monday night around 9:20 p.m.  The second was arrested later on that night, while the third was taken into custody this (Tuesday) morning.

Gainey said Navasota police are currently investigating evidence and recovering stolen property.  The reason for the pursuit has not been stated, but police intend to release more information later this afternoon.

Original Story: Washington and Grimes County authorities have arrested one suspect and are searching for another, following a pursuit Monday night.

According to scanner traffic, one suspect, a black male, was arrested around 9:20 p.m.  He was turned over to Grimes County authorities at 9:30 p.m.

City of Navasota Communications Coordinator Emily Gainey said multiple agencies are involved in the investigation.  These include the Washington County Sheriff’s Office, K-9 units, and a DPS helicopter.

Police are asking for any suspicious activity to be reported, and for people to stay away from the area.  They have not stated the reason for the pursuit.
