2019 CUBETTE SOFTBALL TEAM BEGINS PRACTICE TODAY

The 2019 edition of the Brenham Cubette Softball Team holds its first practice of the season this afternoon.

The Cubettes return 9 starters from last year’s team that just missed out on the playoffs, finishing 5th in the District.  This year’s team will feature 8 seniors, 1 junior, 2 sophomores and 2 freshmen.  Returning starters include senior pitcher Amanda Little, senior catcher/third baseman Kathryn Marshall, senior first baseman Kaitlin Whitehead, senior centerfielder Savannah Bartay, senior rightfielder Caroline Schroeder, senior utility player and designated hitter McGee Eschete, junior pitcher/second baseman Karleigh Flisowski, sophomore centerfielder Kramer Eschete and sophomore catcher Jenna Hardy.  Senior Hanna Warmke, who saw time at second base last year, also returns along with senior outfielder Molly Voskamp.

New to the Cubette varsity this year are freshmen Ella Pieper and Kenley Mikolajchak.  Senior Camryn Finke is the team manager.  The Cubettes’ first scrimmage is at home on Tuesday, January 29th when they host LaGrange at 4:30 and Bellville at 6:15.  Their first game of the season is Tuesday, February 12th when they host Klein Cain at 6:30 at Alumni Field.

Coach Katie Roberts returns for her second year as head coach.  She is assisted by Amy Jasinski, Bridget Weiss, Bridget Holloway and Kelly Boeker.
