TxDOT CONTRACTOR BEGINNING 24-HOUR OPERATIONS ON FM 389 MONDAY

  

Around-the-clock work starts today (Monday) on FM 389 in Brenham.

TxDOT announced last week that their contractor would begin 24-hour operations today, which will last for five days.  Traffic will be reduced to one lane during this phase.

This work is intended to expedite removal of the remaining pavement, as part of a $4.2 million project contracted to Angel Brothers Enterprises out of Navasota.

The project will widen FM 389 to a three-lane roadway, with a continuous two-way left turn lane, along with sidewalks and bicycle lanes between Highway 290 and FM 332 in Brenham.

Drivers travelling in this area will encounter flaggers with one-way operations controlled by a pilot vehicle.  Motorists should expect some minor delays.
