PHONE SCAM BEING REPORTED IN FAYETTE CO.

  

The Fayette County Sheriff’s Office is warning citizens of a phone scam currently being reported in the county.

Sheriff Keith Korenek reports that citizens are receiving calls from a man who says he is Sergeant Jones with the Sheriff’s Office.  The scammer states he is calling in regards to the citizen missing jury duty, and that he or she needs to pay the outstanding fine.

Sheriff Korenek reminds the public that this is a scam, and to not send any money or give out any information to the caller.  These scams can be reported to the Fayette County Sheriff’s Office at 979-968-5856.
