LA GRANGE MURDER TRIAL MOVING TO AUSTIN CO.
A La Grange murder trial is being moved to Austin County.
The trial of Derrick McKenzie, charged with the 2013 murder of Sandra Pfeiffer, will move to Austin County in July.
According to lead prosecutor Peggy Supak, a mistrial was declared earlier this month in Fayette County, due to pre-trial publicity.
District Judge Jeff Steinhauser, who presides over Austin and Fayette Counties, approved moving the trial last week, saying it was the only way to be certain of a fair trial.
