PROBATION SENTENCE FOR FORMER BSSLS EMPLOYEE

La'precious Mitchell
(Washington Co. Jail)

A Houston woman was placed on two years’ probation this week, after her conviction last year in a Washington County courtroom.

23-year old La’Precious Mitchell of Houston was found guilty back in November of Injury to a Disabled Individual for a 2015 incident at the Brenham State Supported Living Center.

An investigation by the Office of the Inspector General showed Mitchell was in charge of a Living Center client in a “one-on-one” capacity.  While Mitchell was watching the client, she reportedly left him alone in his room and he injured himself.

Mitchell reportedly never told anyone about the injury, but video showed her taking him to the restroom to change his bloody shirt.

Mitchell was sentenced Thursday in District Court to two years’ probation.  She was also ordered to cease work as a caretaker, not have any contact with the victim and must stay away from the State Supported Living Center.

Also in 21st District Court, Thursday:

Tristian Alfonso Palacios-Prieve
(Washington Co. Jail)

21-year old Tristian Palacios-Prieve of Brenham had his 2016 probation revoked and was sentenced to 180 days in the Washington County Jail for a charge of Burglary of a Building.

Palacios-Prieve was also ordered to pay the remaining $1,737 in restitution.

Justin Hickman (Washington Co. Jail)

31-year old Justin Earl Hickman of Brenham was sentenced to 10 months in the Washington County Jail after his probation was revoked for two 2015 charges of Burglary of a Building.  Hickman was also fined $757.
