DISCUSSION PLANNED THURSDAY FOR HIGHWAY 290 CLOVERLEAF IMPROVEMENTS

Several Brenham and Washington County officials are planning to attend a joint meeting later this week, to discuss potential improvements to the Highway 290 cloverleaf.

Brenham councilmembers and Washington County Commissioners will gather Thursday at a meeting facilitated by TxDOT officials.

According to Bob Colwell, Public Information Officer for TxDOT’s Bryan District, this is a “kickoff meeting with stakeholders” on improvements to the cloverleaf on Highway 290.

Colwell said the meeting will be conducted by Doug Marino, TxDOT – Bryan Director of Transportation, Planning and Development.  Colwell added the meeting will look to gather information and input from the city and county for cloverleaf improvements.

Colwell stressed this meeting is “very early” in the improvement process, as TxDOT is still looking to “see what the needs are for the project”.

The meeting is set for Thursday afternoon at 3 p.m. in the City Hall Council Chambers.

  1. Guessing were going to tear out another overpass for a surface road with lights to stop traffic & cycle even if there’s not a car in sight on the side road like on 36 north.
