COMMUNITY RALLIES TO SHOW SUPPORT FOR GIDDINGS BASEBALL PROGRAM

The Giddings High School Baseball program has received an outpouring of support, after a devastating fire destroyed much of its equipment Wednesday.
The school held a hamburger fundraiser Thursday afternoon, which was set up Wednesday morning. Despite less than two days of people knowing about the fundraiser, they came out in droves to support the Buffaloes.
Susan Hosch, with the Giddings Booster Club, says Thursday’s fundraiser sold around 1,400 hamburger meals. According to Hosch, those sales, along with free will donations, have raised $17,500 so far. She also says numerous area schools have come by to donate baseball equipment.
Hosch thanks everyone for their support of the baseball program, saying she and the parents couldn’t be more grateful.
Giddings’ district opener in La Grange was originally scheduled for today (Friday), but has been rescheduled for tomorrow (Saturday) morning at 11 a.m.
