GAS PRICES CONTINUE TO CLIMB

  

Gas prices are continuing to increase statewide and nationally.

Data from the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch shows the average price for regular unleaded fuel now sits at $2.40 per gallon.  That price is 11 cents more than this day last week, and five cents more compared to this time last year.

In Brenham, the current average is slightly lower at $2.39, with a low of $2.26 and a high of $2.60.

Of the major metropolitan areas in Texas, drivers in Midland are paying the most at $2.59 per gallon, while consumers in San Antonio are paying the least at $2.26.

The national average price for a gallon of regular unleaded is currently $2.62, which is 10 cents more per gallon than this day last week and five cents more than at this same time last year.
