HUNDREDS TURN OUT FOR ANNUAL BEEKEEPER SCHOOL IN BRENHAM

Brenham High School was home to hundreds of bee enthusiasts Saturday, for the 11th Annual Central Texas Beekeepers School.

Dozens of bee experts educated those in attendance on bee biology, different types of hives, removing bees from structures, and apiary laws in Texas.  Guests could also suit up and get a close-up look at the bees.

Central Texas Beekeepers President Michael Kelling said this year’s school had its best ever turnout, with 677 attending the school.

The Central Texas Beekeepers meet the 4th Thursday of each month at 6:30 p.m. at the Washington County Fairgrounds.  Anyone interested in beekeeping is welcome to attend the meetings.
