BLUEBONNET TO UPGRADE POWER LINES IN WASHINGTON CO.; SOME MEMBERS WILL EXPERIENCE OUTAGES

Certain Bluebonnet Electric members in Washington County will temporarily not have power next Wednesday, as crews work on upgrading power lines.

Members near Old Washington and Chappell Hill in eastern Washington County will be affected the morning of April 3rd.

Power will be interrupted between 9 and 10:30 a.m. to just under 600 members in the Doe Run Farms subdivision, as well as near FM 1155, FM 2193, Hughes Lake Lane, Harry Franklin Road, Felder Road, Kolkhorst Schultz Road, Running River Lane, Running Valley Lane and Borgstedte Road.

Bluebonnet General Manager Matt Bentke said there will be about 100 employees and 60 vehicles in the area working to complete this conversion with minimal impact to members.  Bentke said Bluebonnet takes all possible precautions to make these jobs safe, and area residents are asked to be cautious and aware of work crews.

Bluebonnet will also call every member who is to be affected by the outage to inform them of the day and length of time they will be without power.

The power line upgrades will increase the voltage carried through the lines.  Bluebonnet officials say these upgrades are needed to serve the growing demand for electricity in the area.
