TOWN HALL MEETING SCHEDULED TO DISCUSS FUTURE OF BELLVILLE HOSPITAL
The public is invited to attend a town hall meeting in April concerning the future of Bellville’s hospital.
The Bellville Hospital Foundation Board of Directors will host the meeting at 7 p.m. Monday, April 8th, in the Bellville High School Auditorium.
The purpose of the meeting is to inform and get input from the public regarding the transition, physician recruitment, and the vision for the hospital.
Bellville Hospital Foundation Board Chairman Anne Ford will moderate the town hall meeting. Joining her will be a panel of speakers including Bellville Hospital District (BHD) President Tony Causey.
As of May 6th, CHI St. Joseph Health will no longer lease the facility and operate the hospital. BHD owns the land and hospital, including the neighboring professional medical building.
Juanita Romans will be introduced to the assembly, and will also be on the panel of speakers. Romans, representing TRG Group, will serve as the hospital’s CEO and act as on-site hospital administrator.
Another panelist will be Larry Hancock representing ERH Healthcare, the managing corporation that the BHD has partnered with to assist in managing the local hospital during transition. Dr. Don Bosse will also be available to answer questions.
Ford said this meeting’s objective is for as many local people to attend as possible, so that they can see and hear information for themselves and have their questions answered. She said Bellville’s Hospital District and Hospital Foundation Boards “want to be as transparent as possible with the public”.
Bellville High School is located at 850 Schumann Road.
