BLUE BELL FUN RUN KICKS OFF SATURDAY

Runners are preparing to take to the streets in Washington County for the 41st Annual Blue Bell Fun Run.

Set for Saturday morning, the run is put on by the organization called Run for the Youth of Washington County, and benefits Brenham High School athletics.

The course starts and finishes at Brenham High School on FM 2935 off of Loop 577, on the north side of town in scenic Washington County.  Events include individual and team events in both the 5K and 10K, along with a Kids’ 1-Mile Run.

Blue Bell Fun Run organizer Tracy Campbell says the event has continued to grow ever since its start in 1978, and is fun for everyone involved.

Top finishers will receive medals and trophies, but everyone who participates will get frozen treats from Blue Bell Creameries.

Registration is available online at https://bluebellfunrun.com, in person Friday afternoon before the event, or on race day beginning at 6 a.m.

KWHI’s Sports Doc, Ed Pothul, will be out Saturday morning at Brenham High School broadcasting live from the friendly country cruiser.
