PANTHER SET TO OPEN AREA PLAYOFFS

Weather permitting, the Burton Panthers and Thorndale Bulldogs will open their Area Round playoff tonight in Bryan.
Game-1 of the best 2-of-3 is set for tonight at 7:00 at Nutrabolt Stadium, the home of the Brazos Valley Bombers.
Game-2 and, if necessary, game-3 are slated to begin tomorrow at 5:00.
The Panthers (22-4) are coming off an 11-0 Bi-District win over West Harden. The Bulldogs (22-8) swept Brazos in the opening round, 2-1 and 9-0.
The Panthers were co-champs in District 26/2A with an 11-1 record, while the Bulldogs were second in 27/2A with an 11-3 mark.
