CONTROVERSIAL SUPERINTENDENT TO POTENTIALLY LEAVE KIRBYVILLE

Tommy Wallis (Kirbyville ISD)

The former superintendent in the Bryan ISD may soon be leaving his current job at an East Texas school district.

KBTX TV is reporting that the Kirbyville school board will vote Thursday to approve a retirement agreement with Tommy Wallis.

Wallis's departure from the Bryan school district ended with a lengthy court battle in which Wallis attempted to prevent the release of public records.  Those documents showed multiple allegations of unethical conduct by Wallis during his time with the Bryan ISD.

Wallis is still facing a wrongful death lawsuit by the family of a former Kirbyville High School principal who committed suicide on campus, after Wallis confronted him with unproven allegation of an extra-marital affair in order to drive him out of his job.
