BLUEBONNET BOARD DIRECTOR KEN MUTSCHER DIES

  

A Washington County native and influential Bluebonnet Electric Cooperative member has died.

Ken Mutscher died Monday, after a brief illness.  He was 75 years old.

Mutscher joined Bluebonnet’s board in 1998, serving as secretary and treasurer from 2012 to 2014 and as vice chairman since 2014.  The cooperative said in a statement he was “an invaluable member of Bluebonnet’s board”.

Mutscher was re-elected last week to the board of directors during the co-op’s annual meeting.  Mutscher served as one of the directors from District 7, overseeing Washington County.

Mutscher graduated from Brenham High School in 1961.  He attended Blinn Junior College on a baseball scholarship, then earned a degree in business administration in 1965 from the University of Texas at Austin.  He also served his country for eight years in the Texas National Guard, attaining the rank of lieutenant.

Visitation will be tomorrow (Wednesday) from 5 to 7 p.m. at Memorial Oaks Chapel, 1306 West Main Street in Brenham. Funeral services will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at Grace Lutheran Church in Brenham at 1212 West Jefferson Street.
