WASHINGTON CO. COMMISSIONERS TO SUBMIT REQUEST FOR UNCLAIMED ELECTRIC COOP CREDITS

Washington County Commissioners will look to put in a request for unclaimed electric cooperative credits at their meeting Tuesday.

The court will consider submitting a request to the state Comptroller for the county’s portion of funds due to unclaimed capital credits received by the comptroller from electric cooperatives.

Washington County Judge John Durrenberger said these funds go into a capital credits account if unclaimed after a certain period of time. He said counties are allowed by law to claim a portion of these unclaimed funds from the county of service in which they came from.

Durrenberger said he is not sure how much the county could be eligible for, but the county won’t know until a request is submitted.

Also in court, commissioners will address three utility installation applications. The county will consider applications for: a 4-inch road bore from PGMS-Central Washington County Water Supply Corporation, for the 3009 Creekside Drive intersection for a water line replacement in Precinct 3; a 4-inch road bore from PGMS, for 4255 Genes Lane for a water line replacement in Precinct 3; and from AMP Texas Pipelines, LLC for a natural gas pipeline crossing for Brandt Road in Precinct 4.

Commissioners will also look to proclaim the month of June as Salvation Army month in Washington County. In addition, they will seek adoption of an order for a county right of way parade permit, and consider cancelling the meeting scheduled for June 11th.

Commissioners will meet Tuesday morning at 9 a.m. at the Washington County Courthouse.
