Police in Giddings say a pair of suspects who recently robbed a convenience store are still at large.

Last Wednesday, around 5:30 a.m., two men were seen entering the Travel Plaza, located at 1790 West Austin Street, where they reportedly committed a strong-arm robbery.  A strong-arm robbery means no weapons were shown, but force was said to have been used against the clerk in the store.

The suspects made off with an undisclosed amount of cash.  Some of the money taken was scattered along the roadway, dropped by suspects as they fled the scene.  That money was recovered by authorities.

Police say the suspects parked their vehicle at the intersection of Rolling Oaks Drive and Highway 290, walked to the store, committed the robbery, and then returned back to the parked vehicle, which then headed east on Austin Street back into downtown Giddings.

Officers responding to the robbery never saw the suspects or the vehicle they drove off in.  However, they do have video surveillance footage of the robbery.

Anyone with information on the case is asked to contact the Giddings Police Department at 979-540-2700.
